| Higher education - | Formal dance training at: |
| | San Francisco Academy of Ballet Lines Institute of Choreography Rhythm & Motion Studios |
I was also involved in Social and Volunteer work in San Francisco; I directed after school programs for grade school children in the "Tenderloin" district, conducted intervention and counseling with homeless teens living on Polk Street, taught dance classes at Crossroads Community Center on 6th Street. (SOMA- south of market area), and supported myself waiting tables and bar tending.
I have experienced different cultures by traveling to Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, France and Austria.
I moved to Kona in 1996 and began classes at West Hawaii Dance Theatre, waited tables, and learned to make the best Mai Tai's on the island. (a priceless skill!!)
How did I get into the real estate business you may ask? Going through the experience of the "very first home" purchase, I was intrigued by the entire process. I clearly remember the feelings of excitement, anxiety, anticipation, and frustration. Encouraged by people already in the business, I proceeded to get trained and get my license.
I was able to start my new career by walking Buyers' through the purchase of their first home and executing successful transactions for friends and family who wanted to invest in the rapidly appreciating Kona real estate market.
Since then my business has grown, and evolved into primarily Buyer representation. My clients range from the first time home Buyer, to the repeat offender (I mean Investor), whose focus is on appreciation, growth, and lifestyle.
To increase my level of knowledge and enhance the scope of service for my clients I have taken numerous continuing education courses which include receiving my Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Graduate of Realtor Institute (GRI) designations.
My experiences in dance, social work, travel, and the restaurant/service industry have served as an effective boot camp to learn the skills the real estate business requires.
Skills such as listening to people's needs, discipline, hard work, and patience combined with a foundational character of integrity and tenaciousness; result in a rewarding career for myself, and more importantly, successful transactions for my clients.
